John Ball

John Ball is a dedicated and experienced performer and teacher of North Indian music specialising in both tabla and the one hundred stringed santoor.
Since 2008 he has been Musician in Residence at the University of Sheffield, where he teaches both tabla and santoor.
John is an experienced tabla accompanist performing regularly with Indian Classical Vocalists, Instrumentalists and Kathak dancers based both in the UK and abroad.

He performs and composes on santoor with INDUS, an innovative quartet playing original compositions inspired by traditional Indian music repertoire.

John is available for solo and ensemble performances (inc. weddings/corporate events) private tuition and workshops.
